Alex has to compose himself when the doctor asks him if he wants to cut the umbilical cord - so he wipes his eyes and stops his (admittedly, manly) crying as best he can. He manages to cut the cord without hurting anyone, and watches as the doctor and nurses examine his - their! - son, and wrap him up, placing him delicately in Delilah's arms. He joins them - his family - and watches the newest addition in wonderment, not quite believing that this was real.
